Elegant Menu 6.0 is live on every account. It’s our biggest update so far, and it brings three main changes: a new design across the whole platform, agent mode, which lets you edit your menu by writing what you want changed, and allergen tagging for all 14 allergens in EU food rules. There’s also a long list of smaller improvements.

You don’t need to do anything to get the update. Your menu, dishes, photos and QR codes carry over as they are.

1. A complete redesign

We redesigned the platform from top to bottom. Screens are calmer, the type is bigger and the things you use most are easier to find.

Nothing needs to be set up again. Log in and your menus are where you left them, in the new layout.

2. Agent mode: edit your menu by asking

Open the menu assistant and write what you want changed, the way you’d tell a member of staff. The assistant can add dishes, change prices, translate your menu and update your restaurant details.

Nothing goes live on its own. Every change the assistant prepares waits for your approval, so you see exactly what will change before your guests do.

A few things you can ask:

  • “Add Tiramisù to Desserts at €6.50”
  • “Raise all pizza prices by 5%”
  • “Translate the menu into German”
  • Attach a photo or PDF of a paper menu, and it reads the dishes for you

For a closer look at how it works, read Just tell your menu what to change with the Elegant Menu assistant. If you’re translating for tourists, our guide to translating a restaurant menu covers which languages to pick and which dish names to keep.

3. All 14 allergens

You can now tag dishes with all 14 allergens named in EU food rules. Guests see them as icons on each dish.

Five of them are new in 6.0: celery, mustard, sesame, lupin and molluscs. They join the allergens you could already tag: gluten (wheat), milk, eggs, fish, crustaceans, peanuts, nuts, soy and sulphites.

What to do: open your dishes once and add any of the five new allergens that apply. The tags you’ve already set are kept.

If you’re not sure which dishes need which labels, The 14 allergens: how to label them on your menu walks through it dish by dish.

4. Lots of small fixes

Along with the big changes, 6.0 brings a long list of smaller improvements and fixes throughout the platform.
